HeDPAC will catalyze and facilitate sustained collaboration and coordination between the African and Caribbean regions to work across national and regional boundaries based on unifying goals and rapid responses to current health challenges and emerging health threats.

The covid-19 pandemic has reminded us of the critical role that primary health care has in keeping communities safe and healthy. Further, if countries are to achieve Universal Health Coverage, they need to have well-functioning and resilient health systems to ensure that people have access to health care services. A foundation of strong primary health care to maintain essential health services even during emergencies and future pandemics is at the core of our approach.
